THEN, we will look at slide 8.  You will write a dialogue 60s style and perform it for the class.

Happy Halloween

Goals: To have a meaningful discussion about a work of literature using textual evidence as a catalyst. 

Agenda

Finish reading last page or so of Monsters are Due on Maple Street.
Save the Last Word for Me 

Directions

  • I will assign you some pages from the teleplay
  • You find a significant quote from those pages and write it on the front of the index card that I give you. When choosing your quote, consider theme and symbolism.
  • On the back of the card write one or two sentences explaining the context of the quote. THEN, explain why you chose the quote.  Why is it significant?  How does it contribute to the theme?  What might it symbolize?  Try to fill the back of your card.
These cards will be used in a group discussion; I will explain in class.

Get your narrative submitted by 10PM tomorrow night.
